This Privacy Policy explains how Veritable Labs ("Mango," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, protects, and shares information when you use our personal finance application and related services (the "Services").

At a Glance: We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not store your uploaded images — they are processed only to extract expense information and immediately deleted. We do not show you ads or share your data with advertisers. Your financial data is yours.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address;
  • Name (if provided);
  • Authentication credentials.

1.2 Financial Data You Enter

We store the expense and transaction data you add to Mango, including:

  • Transaction amounts, dates, and descriptions;
  • Categories and tags you assign;
  • Merchant information;
  • Notes or other details you add.

1.3 Uploaded Images (Receipts, Screenshots, etc.)

When you scan a receipt or upload an image, we process it to extract expense information. We do not store your images. Images are sent to our processing service, expense data is extracted, and the image is immediately deleted. Only the extracted text and transaction details are retained.

1.4 Technical Data

We automatically collect:

  • Device type and operating system;
  • App version;
  • Crash reports and error logs;
  • General usage patterns (features used, not transaction content).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the Services;
  • To sync your data across your devices in real-time;
  • To extract expense data from images you upload;
  • To provide customer support;
  • To improve the app's performance and fix bugs;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

2.1 What We Do NOT Do

  • We do not sell your data. Ever.
  • We do not use your data to train AI models. Your financial data and images are used only to provide the Services to you.
  • We do not store your uploaded images. They are processed for extraction and immediately deleted.
  • We do not show you ads or share data with advertisers.
  • We do not share your financial data with third parties except as required to operate the Services (see Section 3).

3. Data Sharing

We share data only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers: We use infrastructure and processing services to operate Mango. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
  • Safety: We may disclose data to protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the Services.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. Your financial data is encrypted and protected at every layer of our infrastructure.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

  • We retain your account and financial data as long as your account is active.
  • You can delete individual transactions at any time within the app.
  • You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
  • Upon account deletion, we will remove your data from active systems within 30 days, subject to standard backup retention.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you;
  • Export your financial data;
  • Correct inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion of your account and data;
  • Withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the Services.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you within the app or by email. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
